My Tirth India, a company that combines spirituality and technology, has unfortunately decided to cease operations due to a shortage of financial support. This news is particularly surprising given the recent popularity and growth of the spiritual tech sector. Despite the overall tightening of funding for many industries, spiritual tech has managed to attract significant interest and investment. However, My Tirth India has been unable to secure the necessary funding to continue its operations.
“We have tried to generate as much employment as possible across cities, villages and towns encouraging people to rediscover their culture, traditions and heritage. But it’s with utter sadness that we finally have to shut down the office due to the lack of funds after the unfortunate demise of our principal shareholder and mentor,” its founder and chief executive ,Indraneel Dasgupta said in a statement.
My Tirth India was a platform that offered a one-stop solution for spiritual pilgrimages to India. It connected travelers with various religious destinations, temples, priests, hotels, travel agents, astrologers, and wellness services like Ayurveda and yoga.
Despite a recent boom in funding for spiritual and religious apps in India, My Tirth India joins a growing list of startups that have recently shut down. This list includes companies from various sectors like insurance (Kenko Health), upskilling (Bluelearn), social media (Koo), AI software (Nintee), and fashion (Fashinza).
However, the spiritual tech space seems to be doing well, attracting investment from major firms. Vama.app, Astrotalk, AppsForBharat, DevDham, and Utsav are some of the key players in this thriving segment.
