A recent software update from cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike has been linked to a major global IT outage that caused significant disruptions.
India’s IT watchdog, CERT-In, classified the issue as “critical” and confirmed it stemmed from outages in Crowdstrike’s “Falcon Sensor” agent. This security software update reportedly triggered crashes on user devices, leading to the dreaded “Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)” on Windows machines.

Crowdstrike, a US-based cybersecurity company listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange, offers various security solutions including cloud workload protection, endpoint security, threat intelligence, and cyberattack response. The company’s founder, George Kurtz, has acknowledged the issue and assured that a fix has already been deployed.
