ONDC an initiative of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) won at National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) in the category of ‘Application of Emerging Technologies for Providing Citizen-Centric Services’

ONDC is also planning to launch insurance and mutual fund products in the coming months.
ONDC is an initiative by the Government of India aimed at creating an open and inclusive digital commerce ecosystem. The primary goal of it is to democratize digital commerce by providing a level playing field for all sellers, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), local businesses, and large e-commerce platforms.
ONDC is further expanding its capabilities for deeper and greater integration with key platforms of the government. This helps them to further enhance ease of doing business, faster access to credit and data flow amongst government platforms. ONDC will make it possible for inter-locks and linkages across government platforms to serve common set of beneficiaries for achievement of unified objectives,
The networks also looking for integrating banks as well as fintech platforms for last-mile credit services.
The award was received by Sanjiv, Joint Secretary in the DPIIT and other officials from the department in Mumbai.
